First impression of the Vomero 14 – Compared to the faster models

Running shoes. I got my new pair of the Nike Vomero 14 last week and have now had the chance to test them out for a couple of runs.

As I wrote in my post about the details and technology behind this new release – the Vomero 14 is actually a whole new shoe and not just a follow up to the Vomero 13. I was very happy to here that since I’m actually not really a big fan of the 13’ model. I have really liked the Vomero model in the past but the Vomero 13 was just not a good update in my opinion.

The Vomero 14 has definitely gotten an upgrade though and in short if your looking for a shoe for long runs with good stability, cushioning and still some punch this is definitely a go too.

It’s got a nice fit and feels really stabile on your foot. The drop still gives it a bit of a forward lean and design wise it’s actually pretty decent for a mileage shoe.

It’s a bit on the heavier side compared to some of the faster models which also gives it that more stabile feel.

If I had to compare it to the Pegasus Turbo or the Vaporfly it’s definitely a shoe with a lot more stability. It’s heavier, still with a bit of bounce but definitely not a “Race shoe” or a shoe I would use for the shorter fast distances.

It’s a perfect shoe in the rotation though for those longer, slower runs and everyday sessions where it’s nice with a bit more cushioning and stability.

I felt no discomfort in this shoes and the fit and sizing was on point. True to size.

I’m definitely gonna use it over the winter for my slower sessions and then mix it up with the Turbo, Streak and Vaporfly when I want to go a bit faster ⚡
