New job and trying to get faster 🏃‍♂️

The new year has been good to me and from February I will officially be part of Copenhagen Care Center located at Østerbro right by the running track. Here I will be trying to create a Quality Physio  clinic with two of my good friends. I’m really looking forward to the challenge and the new environment. On the running front I have been trying to focus a bit more on getting back to the interval training and hopefully get a little bit faster again. During all this marathon training I have build up a really good endurance but I have also gotten really slow. My legs are really taking a beating from the intervals and I feel sore in a…

Interview with Sport24

In the end of 2018 I did a collaboration with Sport24 to help them put some spotlight on their motto that running is for everyone. Not just for the elite, but just as much for the casual runner who likes to run a couple of times a week and everything in between. I definitely support this and see it as one of the greatest things about running. It can be done at all levels, it’s very easy accessible and it’s a really good and functional way of using your body. I believe that we are created to move and use our bodies. Running is a great way of doing just that and a way I really enjoy. All this has ended…

New things happening – Time for a change in the new year

I already have a feeling that 2019 is going to be a really interesting year. I have a lot of both professional and personal goals for the new year. A few running goals as well but first of all I’m kicking the new year off with a change in my workplace. I started out working as a physiotherapist at a communal rehab facility right after graduating. The last 2 small years I have been working as a physiotherapist at a Private clinic where I have learned a bunch. I have had the opportunity to help a lot of people ranging from elite Soccer players to your regular older lady who’s  having trouble walking etc.. Not one individual is the same…

How did it go? – Post-marathon update.

It is done and it even resulted in a new PB with about 5 minutes. The Marathon in San Sebastián was overall a really good and learningfull experience. We got to San Sebastián Friday evening and managed to get settled at the hotel and catch a very late dinner out in town before going to bed and enjoying a good nights sleep. Saturday morning, after a nice breakfast, my dad and I walked down into town and found the Expo for the Marathon. Everything went smooth and I got my number, saw the start area and bought a little bit of running gear. I found my name on the wall, as you have to, and then I was pretty much…

Ready for takeoff 🛫

It is that time. Leaving today for San Sebastián, Spain. My dad and I will be flying out of Copenhagen with a small stop in Madrid and then straight to San Sebastián. I will only be bringing some hand luggage so it’s always a struggle to fit everything in there. Then we have Friday afternoon and evening to get settled at the Hotel, browse around the city and hopefully find some good food. Then the plan is to check out the expo on Saturday and pick up my number, Bib and get everything ready for Sunday. Getting quite excited now that the day is coming closer and im really looking forward to a few lovely days down there. The weather…

My marathon shoe – Nike Pegasus Turbo

The original Nike Pegasus Turbo has been with me all through my marathon prep and since I started back running after my injury. It has been on my feet through all my long tough weekend sessions and it has become a favorite. It fits my feet really well and goes well with my running style. It’s a perfect balance of a lightweight shoe with some bounce and speed but still stabile and cushioned enough for the long distances. I am actually not that fond of the normal Pegasus model but this model just felt right since the first time I tried them on. They are a bit banged up by now from all the training, but as a final tribute…

Are you ready?? – One week to go.

One week to go till my Marathon in San Sebastián. I’m excited but am I ready?? To be honest – I have no idea. My training has been tough but I have gotten through it and kept myself completely injury free. I have enjoyed it and it has been a huge blessing to be back running again. When race day rolls around it has only been a little bit over 3 months since I started back running after my injury though. I had to take about 10 weeks completely off from running because of a small stress fracture in my shinbone back in May. So to be honest, no matter what happens at the race, I’m really satisfied with the…

The mental game before a race

Those last few weeks before race day are always a challenge mentally. You have been training really hard and maybe overreached a little bit, or at least pushed yourself, and now all of a sudden you have to step back, slow down and recover. This equals more time to think, feel and usually that ends up with a lot of people doubting/questioning themself or having way to many nerves leading up to the race. In my book it’s a good sign to be a bit nervous and excited, but if you end up being too nervous and overwhelmed, by the pressure you might have put on yourself to perform, it can really mess up a race or a big performance…

What do you do on those dark and tough days??

I got a really nice question in my inbox the other day. A guy asked me what I do on those days where the desire to train is low or when it’s dark outside and the couch seems like a better option than to lace up the running shoes and hit the streets or visit the local gym? I think a lot of people can relate to the fact that it might be a bit more difficult to keep the training going through the winter time. It’s basically dark when you go to work in the morning and dark when you get off in the afternoon, which is not quite as inviting as sunshine and daylight. For me it’s not…
