1 month to go
In exactly one month from today I will be at the start line at the San Sebastián Marathon attempting a new PB.
My first marathon was back in May here in Copenhagen and I had an amazing experience but I had way too much energy when I crossed the finish line. This was intentional though. I was going out there to get a good experience for my first marathon and just wanted to finish under 3 hours.
I followed a perfect paced group from the danish running society NBRO which was leading the way to a sub 3 hours finish time. Since everything was feeling good I increased the speed for the last 10 K and ended up finishing in 02:55:57 and actually ran my last K in 03:39 – which is a sign of me having way to much energy left in the tank.
This time I will try to beat this time and probably be a little bit more aggressive from the start. Then I hope it holds up all the way to the finish line.
I learned a lot about my body and the distance from the last race. I hope it will help me optimize some things for my future races..
